Trying to fix a marriage after an illicit affair takes place need a lot of will on both parties. This is one of the major problems in marriage that is really hard to fix. You'd definitely feel hurt, confused, angry and insecure all at the same time if your spouse is not faithful. There are even times when you won't

So, how do you really start to fix a marriage after an affair?

Stop Lying

Lies kill your relationship so do not ever do this again to win the trust of your spouse. It may be a challenging thing to do especially if you have told lies to your spouse when you had an affair, but this will not do good in any way. This is one of the ways to keep your conscience clear and at the same time preserve your marriage from falling apart.

Sit Down And Talk About Your Relationship

It may be a classic reason for cheating, as told by a lot of similar stories that you have heard, but it may be true. The lack of communication may have been the concern why all these things happened. If you want to know how to save a marriage today, then treat each other as best friends. Take time to talk things that concern you and discover great things about your partner again.

Learn To Trust Again

Trust will definitely be broken and this will take plenty of time to heal. If you
are the aggravated party, you can't be angry forever. You also have to open your heart for
forgiveness and have the will to move on. If you're the one who cheated, know that the healing
process won't happen overnight. His/her trust won't get back with a few gifts and effort. Time
heals and this is what your partner needs.

Always Be On time

If both of you planned to have dinner, do everything you can to be on time.
Usually, couples who undergo this phase live in different houses for a while and then decide to
meet-up or go on dates to fix their relationship. Make sure both of you are always on time to
show each other that there is something worth fixing.

Be Patient With Your Partner

If your spouse keeps asking you where you were from or who you are talking to, be
patient and answer him/her truthfully. This is part of the healing process and how to save a
marriage; they will learn to stop being like that once the trust has gone back. If you are the one
cheated on, be patient in waiting for your heart to completely heal as well.
